The Treasurer’s Report
OUR TREASURER RETIRES
Shirlene Anderson has been our devoted Treasurer since 1997. What a faithful and diligent officer she has been! She will continue as an active member and as assistant to our treasurer.
Shirlene moved to the Olympia area in 1958. She returned to college and graduated in 1976 after raising 7 children. Until 1979 she was a “General Contractor” building five new homes. When the housing market “crashed”, she was hired by the State of Washington and worked for the Dept. of Transportation for 10 years.
She and her husband love to travel. One of their trips was in a small rented RV with 23 other RV’s to eight different countries in Europe.
In her biography she writes: “My library career began as treasurer with the Friends of the Lacey Library in 1997. Since that time, our Book-Sales and Family and Children’s Programs which the Friends supported, have remarkably increased during the past 10 years.
I am very proud to have been a part of this amazing growth, made possible by the support of the Friends.
I thank all the members and volunteers who made this possible!”
